This article will give you more information regarding our May podcast guest who is a business woman, an author and a survivor of childhood sexual abuse.
Sharing Her Story of Hope and Healing - Larie Norvell
Larie Norvell is a woman of God, a wife, a mom and a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and more. She is the author of the book series “My Heart Speaks”, a caterer, and a minister. Like me and many of you who are reading, she is a woman who has several big roles she is responsible for in her life.
Listen in to her interview to see just how she has been able to overcome major challenges in her personal life and marriage:
Podcast Part 1 | Podcast Part 2
NEVER BE ASHAMED OF WHERE GOD HAS BROUGHT YOU FROM.
HE’LL USE IT TO HELP OTHERS.
~2 Timothy 1:8 (Paraphrased)
Because we are Your Sisters In Survival, we understand what it takes to get real healing … instead of just living a life of denial and phoniness. We fully understand that you will never get that true deep healing to the core of your being until you seek it from God Almighty – Your Father God in Heaven.
We share here based on: love, forgiveness, and holiness – Which Are foundations For receiving from God, according to His Holy Word.
Thanks for stopping by!
~Donna
P.S. And come back after you listen to leave a comment on how you enjoyed Larie’s interview.
What Is The Relevance of Faith For Your Online Business Building Journey?
If you are a Christian, you may think a lot about the topic of faith. I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately because my pastor’s been talking about it a lot, too (he always does, thank goodness).
Recently, he discussed the disciples’ boat journey with Jesus in more context than what I’ve heard most preachers use before. He explained how Jesus had already been preaching and teaching about faith before they got into that ship and ended up in the midst of a bad sea storm. So, after they interrupted his very good sleep with all of their freaking out, he confronted them about their test failure. He’d already been teaching them on this, but they failed the test during the scary-looking storm.
Today, all of this came together for me when someone asked a specific question on Facebook, and I answered it. Here is what I said:
Question:
What scripture can you use when you are tempted so that you can overcome temptations?
My Answer:
In my experience, at the point of temptation is too late to put the flesh under with new scriptures you’ve never read/heard before; the scripture we need has to be written on the journal of our hearts long beforehand so that we can recall it and reuse it at will as needed. The Word from God that will save us in our time of need is whatever scripture we’ve already hidden in our own hearts so that we won’t sin against the Lord (Psalm 119:11) Whatever Word we have, that’s what we have to use so that we can submit to God and resist the devil, and he’ll flee (James 4:7). This is just like what Jesus did when he was tempted by the devil when he was fasting for 40 days.
That’s what faith means to me: having the seeds of God’s Word rooting down into your heart so firmly, that whenever the enemy comes to try to make you fearful or anxious, you can instantly recall those scriptures and speak to the enemy and tell him where to go back to and why. Your Why is whatever God’s Word promises you.
So, take the time to search out God’s scriptures for yourself. Read, study, meditate and ponder about them, and speak the word out loud as prayers of thanksgiving back to the Father, thanking Him for His promises and for what He’s already done in your life and the lives of your loved ones.
You will see the end of your faith. Keep going and keep growing your faith.
Thanks for your blog post about faith, Jamie! (See her post here: http://forcoloredgurls.com/2012/04/feel-good-friday-10-quotes-scriptures-on-having-faith/ )

My Comments: “This review had the tears welling up in my eyes. The reviewer is the phenomenal LaKesha Womack and the author will be a guest on the podcast show for Your Sisters In Survival soon. Her name is Larie Norvell and her series of books is called “My Heart Speaks”. If you’re healing from the wounds of your childhood experiences, I believe that Larie’s books will encourage you and give you hope. Shalom!”
Further Comment about Larie’s Books:
I am reading book 1 by Larie which is called “My Heart Speaks” – This book has been a blessing and encouragement to me because it’s like I can see a bright light shining out of the author despite the ashes that other people and situations and circumstances have tried to dump all over her. Like Lakesha also commented about book 2 (My Heart Speaks of Boys and a Girl), I feel that Larie has a transparency and honesty that makes you connect with her on a much deeper level through her righting than what many authors are able to accomplish. Here below is one of my pics of me holding her books which she has gifted to me. (Note that my own true opinions are expressed here despite this being a gift.) In previous posts, you may have read about the Purpose of The GGene-Sis™ Program. This brief post will help you understand who we are and what we are doing to help our members.
As mentioned before, The GGene-Sis™ Program is designed exclusively with sex abuse survivors in mind. We partner with you in the following ways to help you grow as a person and to learn so you can create or improve your business and develop a sustainable income. Here are some of the ways we are doing this:
*As a member, you get access to our Virtual Village which I helped to co-found and where there is lots of helpful and useful information and encouraging inspiration, plus great extended networking opportunities to meet like-minded business people.
*You also get access to a private online group which is exclusively for GGene-Sis™ Program members and provides additional resources with information and inspiration that is helpful to most abuse survivors in overcoming some of the obstacles that are unique to us.
*Finally, you get access to coaches and mentors who are established in their fields and able to assist you in learning, planning and/or implementing your vision, mission and/or strategy for your business/org.
*Most of these resources are provided from a Biblical world viewpoint.
*More details are provided to program participants who successfully complete phase 1 of the program.
