Happy Mother’s Day to you!
Audio – Scroll down to hear the spoken word anthem.
Happy Mother’s Day to my mother, grandmother, aunts, in-laws, cousins and extended family – many of whom have been like
mothers to me. This “extended family” includes those of you who are part of my online community who have continuously sowed your love and blessings into my life. Thank you! You are all like mothers to me, too.
Please enjoy this original spoken word piece and feel free to pass this on to someone you love:
LISTEN: “A Mother Is A Woman Who…”

I know from experience that motherhood goes way beyond simply carrying a baby in your physical womb and way beyond just childhood, and this spoken word anthem reflects that perspective.
Thank you for stopping by and for listening.
Sincerely,
Donna

If you have been following this blog lately, you may have noticed recent posts to alert you that I am now including articles about Your Sisters In Survival. This article will give you more information regarding our May podcast guest who is a business woman, an author and a survivor of childhood sexual abuse.
Sharing Her Story of Hope and Healing - Larie Norvell
Larie Norvell is a woman of God, a wife, a mom and a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and more. She is the author of the book series “My Heart Speaks”, a caterer, and a minister. Like me and many of you who are reading, she is a woman who has several big roles she is responsible for in her life.
Listen in to her interview to see just how she has been able to overcome major challenges in her personal life and marriage:
Podcast Part 1 | Podcast Part 2
NEVER BE ASHAMED OF WHERE GOD HAS BROUGHT YOU FROM.
HE’LL USE IT TO HELP OTHERS.
~2 Timothy 1:8 (Paraphrased)
Because we are Your Sisters In Survival, we understand what it takes to get real healing … instead of just living a life of denial and phoniness. We fully understand that you will never get that true deep healing to the core of your being until you seek it from God Almighty – Your Father God in Heaven.
We share here based on: love, forgiveness, and holiness – Which Are foundations For receiving from God, according to His Holy Word.
Thanks for stopping by!
~Donna
P.S. And come back after you listen to leave a comment on how you enjoyed Larie’s interview.
I have had the privilege of investing in and reading one of the best books I have ever read in my whole life, next to the Holy Bible. This kind of book truly is a National Treasure and demands that we call attention to it in a bigger way, which I’ll do by hosting a business book club. This 90-Day Book Club is now available for you to subscribe at BookClub.wahmswin.com
This totally EPIC book is called:
On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C.J. Walker by A’lelia Bundles
Ms. A’lelia Bundles is both Madam C.J. Walker’s biographer and her great-great grand daughter. The research she has done (and is still doing for another family member’s biography) was not just academic in nature, but also deeply personal and moving, which shines through in every section of the book. This also shines through in her blog, which is truly a nice continuation of what she started with the book. You can interact with her and see links to her most recent articles on her Facebook fan page for the book. Also, be sure to register for the COAST Calls so you don’t miss her live plus question and answer session.
It would make an excellent text book for middle school and older students. I also plan to use portions of the book to help me educate my home schooled elementary age children. I know in my heart of hearts that if I neglect to share this knowledge and wisdom with my own children, that would be a huge Mom-Teacher FAIL on my part.
African American History IS American History. I truly believe this book, and the Walker family, are an American Treasure. Please make the time to read it … but be forewarned that this is a well-researched book, and it will take time to finish it. So, set a goal of how much you want to read every day/week, and then slowly take it in over time so that you can really grasp all of the knowledge. And, if you want some other great folks to help hold you accountable about reading this whole book, join our 90-Day Book Club at BookClub.wahmswin.com.
Also, please be sure to pass the knowledge in this book on to those who you care about. Remember to use the social tools on this page to share this review with your friends and family.
QUESTION – ANSWER IN THE COMMENTS BELOW:
Have you read any of “On Her Own Ground”, yet? What part of this awesome book impacted you the most so far?
Sincerely,
P.S.

Why Your Understanding Of God’s Love Is Relevant For Your Business
You may have wondered how the ongoing Biblical conversation in the gospels about love could possibly be relevant to having a business. The following may give you some good food for thought on this topic.
I just left this comment on my friend and ally’s Allied Women blog post:
