mothers to me. This “extended family” includes those of you who are part of my online community who have continuously sowed your love and blessings into my life. Thank you! You are all like mothers to me, too.

Please enjoy this original spoken word piece and feel free to pass this on to someone you love:

I know from experience that motherhood goes way beyond simply carrying a baby in your physical womb and way beyond just childhood, and this spoken word anthem reflects that perspective.

Thank you for stopping by and for listening.

This is the second in this new article series, and, again, is as much for you as it is for me. Discussing, success (and failure) helps us all to adjust our mindsets on purpose so we can keep moving forward. Let’s take this journey together and help one another. Leave a comment with your thoughts on this topic. If you missed it, click here to read the previous post.

If you read the previous post in this series, you saw that I shared my “recipe for success” which I have inherited from my mentors. For the next several posts in this series, I’ll share with you about why you need each ingredient and practical steps you can take to incorporate them into your own life and business.

Most likely, you are reading this post because you understand how important it is to talk and think about success, so that you can keep learning and moving forward in your own success journey. Well, just as it is important to understand success, it is also important to have an ongoing conversation about its opposite, the BIG F:

F.A.I.L.U.R.E.

In the kitchen, if your dish did not come out as expected, you can work backwards to deconstruct the failed recipe (or rather your failed execution of a good recipe). When you do this, it helps you to understand what you can do to improve your process and create a great outcome the next time around. I will tell you a story about how I have used this in my life, in a specific area, to create success on purpose. I will give you a specific example of using what you see and hear to help you create success.

My example is a story about my personal life, and is totally relevant here, so just stay with me, okay? Here is my back story:

You may have wondered how the ongoing Biblical conversation in the gospels about love could possibly be relevant to having a business. The following may give you some good food for thought on this topic.

I just left this comment on my friend and ally’s Allied Women blog post:

“It’s so awesome to come and read this post and Tamyka’s comment plus your reply because…
I was just meditating on the scripture about “perfect love casts out all fear”. And I was thinking about how living a love-centric life makes you do things differently than others around you. Agape Love makes you live fearlessly enough to fulfill your purpose in the way God has called you to do it, not as a carbon copy of someone else’s vision. I so love this, too. Thank you, Steph!”

~via Donna Marie Johnson

Here is an excerpt of Stephanie Page’s blog post at Allied-Women.com:

So the big question always is;

How do we know what our purpose is?

And if we have a clue as to what it is

how do we go about successfully living in it?

Pinterest has upgraded the user interface with a nice new social-friendly profile page.

Donna Marie Johnson wwahhmpreneur on Pinterest Mozilla Firefox 3182012 21215 PM.bmp Online Visibility Tip One Very Important Way To Use Pinterest To Boost Your SEOTake advantage of the enhanced visibility this gives you online.

This is vitally important for improving your SEO (search engine optimization) for all of your keywords.

(Keywords are words and/or phrases that internet searchers type in when they are looking for something / someone / someplace in a search engine like google, bing, yahoo or even search engines within a website or network like facebook or twitter.)

Your most important keywords are your:

name, your brand name/s, and then your usernames/ handles on twitter and facebook.

Each and every one of your social profiles on every network you use should have these keywords listed

in your profile description area. Also, you can even use hashtags (tags or codes that start with “#”).

NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT PART

Go to “Edit Profile”

then

switch your profile visibility to “on” if your want your pin profile to be searchable.

(SEO doesn’t work if the search engines can’t see your profile. This applies to all social site profiles you have.)

Myth:

The more Facebook fans you have the better. Although growing your fan base is important, the key is quality not quantity. ~via Heather

My Reply:

Both {quantity and quality of connections} is good … and once you master stewardship over the level of connections you have now, you’ll be able to handle more with grace, elegance, finesse and love ’cause you will have had plenty of practice and sown plenty of good friendship seed.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Yes, relationships, even digital and phone relationships,

work by seedtime and harvest, too.

That’s what makes life in this world go round and round.

Self Check: Are you being a good steward over your relationships online?

3-POINT SOCIAL NETWORKING QUALITY CHECKLIST

1} Research New Friend Requests BEFORE Adding:

–help ensure you are a good fit for one another to prevent future conflict

2} Greet Each New Connection Personally AS SOON AS You Add Them:

–let them know you are grateful for their connection and have a genuine interest in getting to know them more

3} BE The Kind of Quality Connection That You Want to See:

–don’t just talk about how you want others to treat you, follow the Golden Rule and treat them how you’d like to be treated (i.e., read their posts and engage with them by commenting, liking and sharing, etc.)

God blesses His Good Stewards ’cause He knows they’ll take good care of those folks He sends to them. He knows He can trust you with more once you’ve passed the test with the connections you already have.

Please leave a comment about how you have been doing with your online relationship building.

Thanks for reading!

Book Review and Book Club One Woman Can Make A Difference On Her Own GroundI have had the privilege of investing in and reading one of the best books I have ever read in my whole life, next to the Holy Bible. This kind of book truly is a National Treasure and demands that we call attention to it in a bigger way, which I’ll do by hosting a business book club. This 90-Day Book Club is now available for you to subscribe at BookClub.wahmswin.com

This totally EPIC book is called:

On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C.J. Walker by A’lelia Bundles Book Review and Book Club One Woman Can Make A Difference On Her Own Ground

Ms. A’lelia Bundles is both Madam C.J. Walker’s biographer and her great-great grand daughter. The research she has done (and is still doing for another family member’s biography) was not just academic in nature, but also deeply personal and moving, which shines through in every section of the book. This also shines through in her blog, which is truly a nice continuation of what she started with the book. You can interact with her and see links to her most recent articles on her Facebook fan page for the book. Also, be sure to register for the COAST Calls so you don’t miss her live plus question and answer session.

It would make an excellent text book for middle school and older students. I also plan to use portions of the book to help me educate my home schooled elementary age children. I know in my heart of hearts that if I neglect to share this knowledge and wisdom with my own children, that would be a huge Mom-Teacher FAIL on my part.

African American History IS American History. I truly believe this book, and the Walker family, are an American Treasure. Please make the time to read it … but be forewarned that this is a well-researched book, and it will take time to finish it. So, set a goal of how much you want to read every day/week, and then slowly take it in over time so that you can really grasp all of the knowledge. And, if you want some other great folks to help hold you accountable about reading this whole book, join our 90-Day Book Club at BookClub.wahmswin.com.

Also, please be sure to pass the knowledge in this book on to those who you care about. Remember to use the social tools on this page to share this review with your friends and family.

QUESTION – ANSWER IN THE COMMENTS BELOW:

Have you read any of “On Her Own Ground”, yet? What part of this awesome book impacted you the most so far?
