The Ultralight Startup: Launching a Business Without Clout or Capital by Jason Baptiste
This business author, Jason, has wow’d me today. From his message that he sent out via his group on LinkedIn, which I am a member of, down to the actual delivery of free access to his book for 24 hours. He did a great job of setting the example for what his book “The Ultralight Start-Up” is all about.
I can legitimately say that I have read it, or at least scanned through it, because he’s allowed me to have a peek today. My favorite part (and if you know me this won’t surprise you) is his chapter called “You Can’t Go It Alone” where he discusses the importance of partnering, collaborating and outsourcing when you’re getting started (or starting over). This is a topic that I discuss a lot online, also.
I also like that he goes into more detail about understanding which puzzle piece you are as you put together your founders team … kind of like knowing if you are the brain or the brawn. You’ll have to read it for yourself to get detail, but that’s just my take on it for now.

Pinterest has upgraded the user interface with a nice new social-friendly profile page.
Take advantage of the enhanced visibility this gives you online.
This is vitally important for improving your SEO (search engine optimization) for all of your keywords.
(Keywords are words and/or phrases that internet searchers type in when they are looking for something / someone / someplace in a search engine like google, bing, yahoo or even search engines within a website or network like facebook or twitter.)
Your most important keywords are your:
name, your brand name/s, and then your usernames/ handles on twitter and facebook.
Each and every one of your social profiles on every network you use should have these keywords listed
in your profile description area. Also, you can even use hashtags (tags or codes that start with “#”).
NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT PART
Go to “Edit Profile”
then
switch your profile visibility to “on” if your want your pin profile to be searchable.
(SEO doesn’t work if the search engines can’t see your profile. This applies to all social site profiles you have.)
