If you read the previous post in this series, you saw that I shared my “recipe for success” which I have inherited from my mentors. For the next several posts in this series, I’ll share with you about why you need each ingredient and practical steps you can take to incorporate them into your own life and business.
Most likely, you are reading this post because you understand how important it is to talk and think about success, so that you can keep learning and moving forward in your own success journey. Well, just as it is important to understand success, it is also important to have an ongoing conversation about its opposite, the BIG F:
F.A.I.L.U.R.E.
In the kitchen, if your dish did not come out as expected, you can work backwards to deconstruct the failed recipe (or rather your failed execution of a good recipe). When you do this, it helps you to understand what you can do to improve your process and create a great outcome the next time around. I will tell you a story about how I have used this in my life, in a specific area, to create success on purpose. I will give you a specific example of using what you see and hear to help you create success.
My example is a story about my personal life, and is totally relevant here, so just stay with me, okay? Here is my back story:

How often do you come across a holy scripture from the Bible that has a woman’s name as the title of the verse? The Holy Bible has mostly books named after men and cities or regions or periods of history. However, there are some that are named after women. This must mean that these women were exceptionally important. And even though Jesus’ Mother Mary was one very important woman in the Bible, she did not have a book named after her.
However, a widow who was not a jew got a book named after her. Her name was Ruth. Also, note that the Bible books that are named after people are not named for people who did not love or have faith in God. These books were named after people who pleased God because they had great faith. Ruth’s faith was similar to many women who I’ve come to know, and to my own, also.
She had faith that her own diligence and willingness to operate in out-of-the-box wisdom would bring blessings to her and her family even though she was only a jew by marriage, and not by birth … and was a poor, childless widow, also.

As I was reading today, I came across an article that highlighted this important discussion about…
“The Free Internet Act: To promote prosperity, creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation by preventing the restriction of liberty and preventing the means of censorship. FIA will allow internet users to browse freely without any means of censorship. Users have the right to free speech and to free knowledge. We govern the content of the internet, governments don’t. However, we believe that appropriate laws must also be put into place to protect copyrighted content and intellectual property holders from copyright infringement. We need the internet’s support and assistance in producing and passing this act globally. We stand together as people who value the free exchange of information and who wish to see our rights secured.
Promote freedom, stand with FIA.”
I realize that this is a weighty issue that will affect you, me, our families and our businesses now and in the future. That’s why I got involved in petitioning against SOPA. So, now I’m glad to also get involved in this proactive discussion about creating a legitimate law for and by the people to help ensure our internet freedoms.
